Colbert is an expert in trade and investment law and has undertaken several consultancies in this area of law. He is well versed with legal and regulatory compliance audits and is a leading litigator in constitutional, administrative, and human rights law in Kenya with 15 years of experience.
He has secured favorable court decisions safeguarding the rights of intersex and transgender individuals in Kenya. In 2014, he was nominated for ECOSOC (Economic, Social and Cultural Rights) Pro Bono Jurist of the year award.
He is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Pretoria. Colbert holds an LLM degree in International Trade and Investment Law from the University of Pretoria; a certificate in International Trade and Development, a certificate in Capital Market and Securities Regulation and, an LLB from the University of Nairobi.
Colbert is presently a lecturer at the African Nazarene University and has been a lecturer in the Advocates Training Programme at the Kenya School of Law. He has undertaken legal consultancy and training on diverse legal topics for various clients across diverse sectors.

Dr. Owino is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 13 years of post-admission experience. He holds a Dr. iur (Doctor of Laws) degree in International Environmental Law from Universität Bayreuth; an LLM from the University of Dar es Salaam and an LLB from Moi University. Additionally, Dr. Owino holds a certificate in Energy Sector Strategies to Support Green Growth from the World Bank Group.
He is an expert in Environmental and Energy Law, as well as Climate Change and Natural Resources Law. In these areas he has been consulted by the World Bank; the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO);the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and the Kenyan Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Additionally, he has conducted legal audits and advised several corporate clients on regulatory compliance. He practices before the Environment and Land Court in Kenya and is a trainer on environmental sustainability-related legal topics.
An avid academic and trainer, Dr. Owino is a Senior Lecturer at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) School of Law. He trains upcoming advocates in the Advocates Training Program (ATP) at the Kenya School of Law as a member of the adjunct faculty. He is presently a member of the Law Society of Kenya Committee on Environment, Land, Natural Resources, and Conveyancing. He is fluent in English and has a good mastery of German. Before joining ACORN Law, Dr. Owino was a partner at Munyao Muthama and Kashindi Advocates in Nairobi.

Milkais an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 12 years of post-admission experience. She holds an LLM degree in Human Rights, constitutional and East African Community Law from the University of Dar es Salaam and; an LLB degree from the University of Nairobi. Her practice specializes in human rights law, as well as constitutional and family law.
She is a lecturer at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) school of law. She has been consulted by Hivos Foundation, COC Netherlands, East African Sexual Health and Rights Initiative (Uhai-EASHRI), Jinsiangu, Transgender Education and Advocacy, and Centre for Rights Education and Awareness (CREAW Kenya).
Milka is an ardent public interest litigator with vast experience both locally and at the East African Court of Justice. In addition, she has in-depth understanding and practical interaction with regional and international human rights judicial institutions including the United Nations Committee on Economic Social and Cultural Rights (CESCR), and the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights.
A passionate social justice enthusiast, Milka is the founder of Amka Africa Justice Initiative, a non-profit organization that partners with university legal clinics to promote access to justice for the indigent, minority, and marginalized persons in Kenya. Milka has previously worked at the Kenya judiciary as a legal researcher and before joining ACORN Law, was a partner at Ojiambo and Company Advocates in Nairobi.
